Strategas Management Consultants started life as Carpe Diem Consultants in 2001, a boutique management consultancy after its founder had decided to leave a permanent role within the investment banking arena and focus on a more holistic approach to consultancy. At the time, it specialised in improving financial planning and analysis for large organisations boasting high profile clients such as Orange and MPSGI.
By 2006 it had taken on a small and niche team of associates focusing predominantly in value creation planning with a specific emphasis on MIS, reporting, conducting strategic reviews to advise on operational efficiencies and organisational transformation work. During this period, clients included the FTSE 100 giant Rentokil-Initial.
In 2008 in recognition of the financial markets crises the company began to focus more on the private equity markets specialising in M&A, restructuring, refinancing and cashflow management. PE clients include 3i, August Equity, Duke Street Capital, Exponent Private Equity, Perwyn, Lloyds Development Capital, Wyelands Capital, UKGI, Livingbridge Private Equity and Close Brothers Private Equity.
Over the last few years the company has sought to leverage its relationships with suppliers and its growing network of professional companies and in addition to its core consultancy services, now offers a range of complimentary services including:-
- Business Process Outsourcing to match clients looking to reduce costs by using BPO services from the Indian subcontinent;
- Assisting UK clients in overseas market entry as well as overseas clients into the UK;
- Both permanent and interim recruitment solutions with highly competitive rates;
- Directors are also active Angel investors in over 100 organisations ranging from start-ups to companies with several million pound revenues and that have been trading for several years. Alongside this initiative we hope to leverage some of our private equity contacts as well as high net worth contacts to offer higher amounts of funding as well as mentoring and advisory services via our considerable combined networks.
We are intentionally a small practice as that allows us to offer personal care and attention to each of our clients. Every project is currently led by Ashif Manjothi who works directly with the client or where appropriate, can direct an in-house team or external team of independent consultants to work on various aspects of the project. We appreciate we may not personally have all the skills to add value to every project in-house but pride ourselves on our network of quality associates from multitudes of backgrounds and industry sectors who can add value from day one and literally hit the ground running on every project.
As we are small, this allows us to be flexible. All our consultants are based from home with no fancy offices. Quite frankly we find them to be unnecessary, as we do unnecessary support staff or extravagant marketing. This is great news for our clients because we can pass these cost savings directly onto them.
In essence, we are generally at least half the cost of our competitors who tend to be traditional management consultancies or the big accounting firms but with no loss of quality in our input or considerable experience. We also transcend the traditional interim agencies as all of our associates are rewarded more generously than if they were working via other 3rd parties while at the same time, each assignment retaining the engaging partner’s direct input. We have found this approach to be a winning formula for all concerned and proud to boast this competitive advantage.
